Alicia Choi
Alicia Choi is a well-rounded young artist who is passionate about solo violin and chamber music repertoire. Lauded for her “technical flair and gleaming tone,” Alicia has performed extensively in the Maine, Massachusetts and New York areas; her most recent solo appearance with orchestra was with the Queens Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Constantine Kitsopoulos this past May. Alicia is also a successful competition and award winner; the most recent accolades include the Williams College Arthur Judson Prize in Music, the Queens Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition, and the Berkshire Symphony Student Soloist Competition, among several others.
Alicia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College, with degrees in both Chinese and Music with highest honors. She was awarded the Arthur Judson Prize in Music upon graduation. As the recipient of the M. & E. Cohen and Karl H. Kraeuter Scholarships from the Juilliard School, Alicia will be a second-year Master of Music student of Robert Mann this September. She currently uses a bow made by F. Daguin of Mirecourt, France, which was awarded to her by the Virtu Foundation last year.
