Biography:

 

Linnea received her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University where she studied with CJ Chang, Principal violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She holds a Performance Diploma from Boston University where she studied with a fine-arts scholarship award, worked with members of the BSO and performed in Boston Symphony Hall under the baton of Ken David Masur. She is currently working towards her Master’s in Music Performance at University of Maryland studying under Katherine Murdock, where she holds a full-tuition scholarship and assistantship. She has performed with the Choral Arts Society in the Kennedy Center, has performed in Carnegie Hall, appeared as Principal Viola alongside classical guitar legend Sharon Isbin, played in concert with Rufus Wainright, and recorded a music video alongside rapper Jay-Z for the Super Bowl. She has spent the past few summers performing as a fellow in the National Repertory Orchestra, the Round Top Festival Institute, and the Aspen Music Festival, playing in concert with Robert Chen, Nikolai Lugansky, and Yefim Bronfman. Linnea plays on a Douglas Cox viola provided to her through a scholarship grant from the Virtu Foundation and is an active freelancer in the Washington DC area.
