Victor Beyens, is a French violinist from Clermont-Ferrand, where he started violin at the age of seven. Victor moved to Arizona with his family when he was 15 years old and resumed his violin studies there. Victor has received a bachelor’s degree in violin performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of David Updegraff in 2013 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in violin performance under the tutelage of the Cleveland Orchestra concertmaster: William Preucil. Previously, Victor studied with Dr. Katherine McLin at Arizona State University while he was a high school student. He has participated in a number of music festivals across the United States and in Europe, such as the National Repertory Orchestra, Brevard Music Center, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Interlochen Arts Camp and International Music Academy of Pilsen. Mr. Beyens was the winner of the Jan and Beattie Wood concerto competition and as a result performed with the Brevard Music Center Orchestra in 2013. In 2014 he was a finalist for the Cleveland Institute of Music concerto competition. Most recently, He soloed with the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, Colorado. Victor is a member of the Firelands Symphony Orchestra in Sandusky, OH and is a substitute violinist for several other orchestras around the area. Victor plays on a violin generously loaned to him by the Virtu Foundation.
