Biography:

 

Cellist Sophie Paul is an avid chamber musician, advocate of new music, and passionate teacher. Sophie has performed with the Rainier Symphony, the Orchestral Recital Series of Tacoma, and as a guest artist on the Jacobsen Recital Series at the University of Puget Sound. Sophie has spent four summers as a student at the Brevard Music Center Festival and Institute in Brevard, North Carolina, where she served as principal cello. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in 2022 from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, studying under Alistair MacRae. Sophie is currently working towards her Master’s of Music in Cello Performance at the The Boston Conservatory, where she has held principal seats, and studies under Rhonda Rider and David Russel.
